9-13-07 In the Rain

I planned on running six last night, but it was raining a little (this didn't bother me), but I decided to try a new trail near the dam. WOW! I was not in the frame of mind (or body) to take that particular trail. It led to some serious hills - it was a good workout, but I was hoping for a relaxing run.

I figure it was a total of 5 miles - but this is a guess.

9-10-07 Long run

I ran 11.1 miles last night. I'd planned on a 6 or 8 mile night, but I decided to run longer since I have a dinner meeting with vendor on Tuesday night (= no run). I used the energy beans again, and felt like the helped, but I'm still not convinced of their true effect - more experimentation to come.

I ran from the Start line to the West Point Entrance via the boat ramp, and a few other offshoots/parking areas. I had to go online and map it on gmaps pedometer to verify the distance. I added an additional 2 miles at the end to get up to 11, and it was pretty dark as I ran back over the dam for the 3rd and 4th times, but it was an enjoyable run.

I'll not be running for the next 2 nights, so I should have the time to recover, and maybe try for another 10+ miler on Saturday if work doesn't get in the way (but I feel like it probably will).

9-8-07 Good Run

I went 8 miles last night (with a few stops). I ran from the Start line to the West Point entrance (no trails), and down by the boat ramp. I tried some 'energy beans' with this run, and stopped for a few seconds every 2 miles to chew up 2 more of them. It felt like it helped, but that may have just been a good run. I'll try them some more with my runs of 6 miles or longer, and will see if the results hold true. My stomach was pretty torn up later in the evening, and I'm hoping it wasn't the beans that did it. The next run will probably reveal that.
